The tour IS going ahead we have 16 players on 'my keen to go' list (or will be there already list).
The quote I have for the flights is leaving Auckland with Thai Airways on Wednesday 1st July 2020 at 1.10pm and returning from Heathrow Saturday 18th July at 11.35am and due to arrive back in Auckland at 11am on Monday 20th July.
The cost of this return flight is $2199 and we are still awaiting Air New Zealand's quote for transit too and from Napier/Auckland for those that want/need it.
The travel agent will need $200 deposit in 90 days (early May) and the rest of the cost of the flight 50 days before we travel.
The UK clubs will not be interested in organising fixtures until November which gives us some time to look at the size and strength of the squad. St Lawrence will want us there on the two Saturdays to entertain us and the two Sundays for games
In the two weeks we are there I will look for about 8 games, a core of them will be 2pm starts and I suspect the rest will be midweek starts at 4pm/5pm. Still plenty of daylight to play until 8.30pm and drinking and eating time to follow.
The accommodation I will book will be cabins in Kingston near Deal which can sleep between 4 to 8 players. The cabins cost around $1800 for 2 weeks which comes to about $300 per person if you can share a cabin of 6. There are a range of cabins and this can be negotiated. I will also arrange us to be picked up and dropped off by a coach from Heathrow (the quote is about $120 return) and as yet unsure as what to do about transport over the two weeks depending on who travels and who hires there own car. We may well get a minibus.
